Feature #1: Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
What?
Our Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) feature compares companies’ conventional manufacturing and its inventory-related costs with subjected costs to AM, thus, highlighting those parts for which a switch to AM should be considered to gain from an on-demand procurement strategy. Currently, we focus on sourcing, storage, capital, and scrap costs.
Why?
To only compare direct manufacturing costs of AM versus Conventional Manufacturing (CM) does not cover the full picture when selecting the economically most viable manufacturing route. To do so, aspects such as minimum order quantities, storage costs, capital costs and scrap costs need to be considered. As a result, you will find more parts which show a cost and lead time saving potential.
